I. LANG LEGEND
LangBiang is associated with a touching love story of a boy named Lang and a girl named Biang. According to legend:
In the past, La Ngu Thuong area (now Da Lat) had very fertile soil and a cool climate all year round. There are many tribes living here, in which the two strongest tribes are Lat and Chil. The Lat tribe has a handsome, majestic chief with an extraordinary strength.
His name is Lang. In the Chil tribe, there was an extremely beautiful girl, so much so that her beauty made the mountains and forests tilt. One day, when she went to the forest to pick fruit, she was suddenly attacked by two cobras. At that moment, Lang went hunting, saw the person in trouble, immediately ran to save, kill the demons and free her. Feeling sorry for the young man's generosity, she said her name was Biang. Since then, Lang and Biang fell in love.Photo source: Langbiang tourist area
Biang (father) of Biang - he could not accept his daughter's love, because in the past the Lat and Chil had animosity with each other. Biang is desperate for a love affair with Lang, so she is determined not to marry anyone and vows to wear Lang's wedding ring for the rest of her life.
Because she missed Lang so much, Biang crossed many forests to find him and tell him the news. Lang and Biang sat day in and day out, despite the sun and wind. They vowed to be together until their last breath. One day, both of them turned into statues. Their love thus becomes immortal. The name Langbiang also started from that time. At the top of Langbiang tourist area, there are still statues of Lang and Biang.
